Who is Jesus

God does not want to be thought of as being distant and unconcerned, He wants us to know him as a person. So God sent a man into the world who was an exact representation of Himself, His Son Jesus. To put it simply Jesus is God, no other religious leader has ever made such claims about himself and backed it up with miracles and rising from the dead to prove it.

Jesus had no physical father, God brought Jesus into the world through the womb of a virgin. He grew up as a simple man and worked as carpenter until he was 30 years old. At that time, the Spirit of God empowered him and he began to teach people about God, his father. Jesus came to show people exactly what God was like by saying and doing only what his father was doing. His life was a living picture for everyone to see God. For the next three years he demonstrated God's power through miracles and revealed God's compassion by healing many people.

The religious leaders of his day were infuriated when Jesus said that his Father was not pleased with their religious rituals and confronted their hypocrisy. These leaders arrested Jesus and executed him on a cross. But God raised his son from the dead three days later as proof that Jesus was the way to life after death.

Jesus is the only perfect man who ever lived; who never did anything wrong. He had the power to do miracles and escape from those who tried to kill him, but instead choose to die on the cross so he could take every one elses place in paying the death penalty for sin. He stood before his Father and said " I will pay for what everyone has done wrong, put me to death and not them". Now whoever askes God for forgiveness and turns from selfish living can live forever and not die because of what Jesus did. He came to save you from the consequences of your sins.

Jesus is living today. Any one who follows Jesus as the Lord (ruler) of this world and believes that God raised him from the dead, will be forgiven for what ever they have done wrong and will live again after they die. The consequence for breaking God's commands is death (Hell), but God's gift is eternal life given through Jesus Christ the Lord. For "God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never die." - John 3:16
